Traineeship details

This Traineeship work experience is part of an education and training programme that is focused on giving young people the skills and experience that employers are looking for. At its core is the Work Preparation training, English and maths for those who need it, and a high-quality work experience placement.

Traineeships help unlock your great potential and give you the work preparation training, maths, English, Digital Skills and work experience needed to get an Apprenticeship or other job.

This Traineeship Opportunity is unwaged.

Are you eligible?

  1. Are you currently not in a job? Do you have little or no work experience?
  2. Are you aged 16 to 24 and qualified below Level 4?

The project titled “Two Black Boys in Paradise'' is a 6 minute stop-motion adaptation of Dean Atta’s poem of the same name. The film deals with themes of racism and homophobia but is also a joyous story which celebrates Black and LGBTQIA+ pride.

Our story takes place across urban and natural environments, which trainee’s will help build in miniature. You’ll work closely with our art director and senior model makers creating sets and props, collecting supplies, researching materials and testing techniques. These roles would suit candidates who have a passion for film and stop-motion animation, and/or have experience painting, building models and other craft experience. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside animation professionals who will be on hand to guide and support you throughout your time with us.

These roles will be based in Ancoats, Manchester although it may be possible for some work to be done remotely. From us you can expect a supportive team who are solution focused, who will provide a positive working environment and who will look out for your wellbeing.

We welcome young creatives from all backgrounds, encouraging people who belong to underrepresented communities and anyone who shares a personal affinity to the themes explored in this film to apply.
