Traineeship details

The traineeship work experience is part of an education and training programme that is focused on giving young people the skills and experience that employers are looking for.

At its core is the work preparation training, English and maths for those who need it, and a high-quality work experience placement.

Traineeships help unlock your great potential and give you the work preparation training, maths, English, Digital skills and work experience needed to get an apprenticeship or other job.

Your day to day activities will be variable and may include:

  • Deliver a great level of customer service to ensure the customer enjoys a memorable shopping experience and can’t wait to return
  • Contribute to the achievement of store targets and goals (also known as KPI’s)
  • Deliver on deadlines, always striving for BEST
  • Work on own initiative to contribute to the store’s success
  • Take a pro-active approach in getting to know the product and collections, and consistently continue to build on knowledge and expertise, to share with the customer
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and visual standards in store
  • Showcase excellent communication skills, with the customer, colleagues and senior management
  • Be reliable, timely and well presented
  • Work in line with all Health and Safety and Security measures at all times
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Be an ambassador of the People Values; We Love Our Customer, We Make it Happen, We Empower Together and We Push Boundaries

A traineeship is a course with work experience that gets you ready for work or an apprenticeship. It can last up to 12 months.
You can apply if you’re:

  • Eligible to work in England
  • Unemployed and have little or no work experience
  • Aged 16 to 24 and qualified below Level 4

You’ll get:

  • A work experience placement
  • Help with English and maths (if you need it)

You won’t be paid, but you may be given expenses for things like travel and meals.

Training to be provided

You will learn how to:
