This Traineeship is unpaid work experience.
The Trainee will have the chance to work with a variety of ages: babies to young teenagers. There will be a chance to interact with the children in playtime, crafting, outdoor activities, school runs etc.
Also the trainee will help with meals throughout the day, from bottle feeding to teaching basic feeding regimes. Also helping with basic health and hygiene routines.

A Traineeship is an educational and training programme which has a focus on work experience and giving young people the skills and practical experience that employers are looking for. At its core are work preparation training, English and maths for those who need it, and a high quality work experience placement. Traineeships help unlock your great potential and give you work based training, plus maths and English to help in gaining an Apprenticeship or employment.

This is a great opportunity for you to gain excellent ‘hands on’ work experience in a homebased environment.
This will improve an individual’s knowledge and practical skills in childcare.
Hours will be agreed at interview, total work experience hours will be 236 over the 14 week programme.
Training to be provided
This work experience is part of a full Traineeship programme which will also cover the following
A work experience placement
Week 1 – College induction to prepare for placement starting in week 2.
Week 2 – one day work experience. (to be agreed)
Week 3 –5 - two day’s work experience (to be agreed)
Week 6-13- three day’s work experience (To be agreed)
Week 14- no work experience/feedback and debrief
In addition to the placement days the full Traineeship programme also includes the following:-
Tuesday 9.00am-12.00 midday - Work skills training which includes interview skills, work preparation, CV etc. this will be delivered at The Point at Kidderminster College.
Functional skills in maths and English (for those that do not possess grade C’s in maths and English) workshop session between delivered at The Point Kidderminster College, sessions to be confirmed
