Trainee Support Worker in Swiss Cottage Lifecare Professionals Ltd

This Traineeship will enable you to kick start your health and social care career by learning how to support vulnerable people to live a full and dignified life. During this Traineeship you will learn how to support adults with physical disabilities, medical conditions, mental health and the elderly.

Traineeship details

As a Trainee Support Worker you will learn how to provide person centred care to people with physical disabilities, medical conditions, mental health and the elderly. A Support Workers duties are;

  • Providing Personal Care, such as washing and dressing
  • Helping service users to cook and/or serve them meals
  • Helping to keep their home clean and tidy
  • Helping with Laundry
  • Helping to promote physical and mental wellbeing by taking the client out and being good company for them
  • Identifying other support that the client might need to stay independent and safe in their own homes
  • Communicating and feeding back to head office

Training to be provided

This Traineesships is a work experience program with specific training for preparing to work in a health & social care environment. On top of 100 hours of work experience you will gain health & social care related training and Functional Skills English and Maths if you need to improve your grades. The first two weeks of the program are classroom training sessions run from 10:00 - 3:00 Mondays – Thursdays. 
The work experience placement is part time Mondays - Sunday during week 3 to week 6. Weeks 3 to week 6 also include classroom tutorials on Fridays to complete any outstanding work to gain your qualifications.
