Summary

Start your career in care while getting paid to learn. As an Apprentice Care and Support Assistant, you’ll support residents in everyday moments, help run activities and build confidence while working towards a fully funded Level 2 Adult Care Worker qualification with real progression opportunities.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Greet residents and visitors and be the warm, welcoming face of the community
  • Answer queries and support residents with everyday needs
  • Plan and lead engaging activities, both group sessions and one‑to‑one moments
  • Encourage independent living and help residents stay active and connected
  • Support residents to engage with their local community, including outings and virtual family catch‑ups
  • Champion resident choice and enable people to live life on their own terms
  • Work as part of the Retirement Community team in a single, consistent location

Training for this apprenticeship will be delivered by Connect2Care, with regular support from a dedicated trainer throughout the programme. Training will take place in the workplace, with sessions scheduled directly with the trainer.
