Summary

Harrison Developments is a highly respected Yorkshire based property developer and building contractor renowned for quality workmanship. We are recruiting for a Finance Apprentice. A confident candidate who has a great work ethic, strong accuracy & willing to work towards a recognised AAT qualification and further accounting credentials.

Annual wage
£12,480 a year

Increments will be set in place upon achievement of milestones throughout the qualification.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

The role will include: 

  • Data inputting
  • Liaising with customers and HMRC via telephone, email, and letter
  • Assisting in accounts preparation
  • Administration of sales ledger
  • Assisting with basic accounts office tasks, including helping with posting payments received to customer accounts and excel
  • Sending letters and statements to customers

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties, and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by the organisation which is relevant to your post within the company to meet the overall business objectives whilst maintaining excellent customer relation

Course contents
  • Record transactional data.
  • Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
  • Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
  • Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
  • Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Your training plan

Level 2 Accounts / Finance Assistant Apprenticeship Standard, which includes:

  • Level 2 AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting
  • Level 1/2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
  • End-Point Assessment (EPA)

More training information

  • There will be one day a week where you will log on to your classroom delivery

Essential qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • English (grade C/4 or above)
  • Math (grade C/4 or above)
