Gym is open between the hours below, so cover will be expected at these times. Rota basis to be discussed at interview.
Monday - Thursday: 6.15AM - 9:00PM .Friday: 6:15AM - 8:00PM
Saturday: 7:30AM - 4:00PM. Sunday/Bank Holiday: 8:00AM - 2:00PM.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
As a Gym Instructor/Trainer at Fitlife in Oxford, you’ll consistently deliver safe, fun and effective sessions that will help our members reach the goals they set out to achieve.
We are looking for someone with a real presence on the gym floor, someone who will go the extra mile to help our members reach their goals. You will provide one to one and group inductions and general exercise programmes, including the introduction to new equipment where appropriate. You will need to have a flexible approach to your work and the motivation to succeed in order to shine.
You’ll need:
- A level 2 Gym Instructor qualification is an advantage but not essential.
- The ability to be confident to teach group sessions.
- The ability to work unaided when training permits.
- To be willing to complete a Level 3 Personal Trainer Apprenticeship.
- Communication to speak to members and build a clientele of new membership.
- Cleaning of machinery and gym.
You will receive full in-house training alongside professionals who have already undertaken this qualification. As well as working towards a professional recognised industry standard qualification.

Other requirements
Make sure you check the location so you can travel on a daily basis. This role will be on a shift basis so some early mornings or late evenings will be involved. We would consider someone starting to work towards a L2 Fitness Instructor qualification for the right person.

After this apprenticeship
- Potential to progress into a permanent, full time Level 3 Personal Trainer position for the right candidate.
- On successful completion of this apprenticeship the Personal Trainer will be eligible to become a Personal Trainer Practitioner Member of the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA).
