What you will do in your working day

To become part of our team with varied tasks each day which will include:

  • Bookkeeping for our clients. 
  • Admin assistant work such as setting up new clients, carrying out legal checks to comply with regulations.
  • Support with the preparation of accounts and other work to assist our accountants.

The training you will be getting

  • Association of Accounting Techniician Level 2 certificate.
  • Functional skills if required.
  • Wiltshire College will advise regarding the day release location. Other training will take place in our office in Salisbury. You will have a designated mentor and learn 'on the job' with work being explained, shown how to complete in practice and then taken forward with applying that knowledge will support from the mentor.
  • Normally training with Wiltshire College is one day per week in term time but they can advise further.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Looking for a permanent employee therefore our hope is to retain the individual well beyond the apprenticeship period of 12 months.
  • Support offered to continue to AAT level 3 and beyond if desired.
  • The wish to gain higher qualifications is not essential but the avenue is open to progress if required.
  • As a small, friendly practice we are very happy to help with progression as it helps our business as well as helping our applicant.

Things to consider

We are a small team of 6 staff where we share all forms of accountancy work. The applicant will gain experince in all types of business and indiviual taxation. Work is varied and interesting as you learn about not only different forms of taxation but gain accounting skills.
