What you will do in your working day
Duties to include:
- Mixing mortar
- Labouring duties including preparation of the work site, setting out the work and selection of materials/tools appropriate to the job.
- Learning to use the tools and equipment to construct walls with brick and block to industry standard
- Laying stone, brick and block
- Carrying out continuous professional development to maintain knowledge of current and future developments affecting the role.
- Working as part of a team to complete work on schedule
The training you will be getting
- You will be working towards a Level 2 Bricklaying Apprenticeship Standard
- You will receive on and off-the-job training and support from an assessor and an Apprenticeship advisor
- You will be required to attend Cornwall College St Austell on a weekly basis as part of the apprenticeship training
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
The successful candidate, on completion of the apprenticeship will have the opportunity to continue working for A A Bolton on a self-employed basis.
