- Front-End & Back-End Development: Learn to build accessible, user-friendly interfaces using JavaScript, HTML and CSS, contribute to design briefs and mock-ups using Figma, and develop back-end solutions using Python and AWS infrastructure services.
- Customer Requirements & Team Collaboration: Work with colleagues and customers to understand requirements, project scope and expected outcomes, contribute to task estimates, share improvement ideas, identify additional customer needs and participate in daily team meetings to discuss progress, priorities and challenges.
- Version Control, Testing & Quality Assurance: Use Git to manage code and collaborate with developers, participate in peer and code reviews, carry out unit and integration testing, identify bugs and help deliver reliable, accessible, maintainable and scalable software.
- Secure Development, Documentation & Maintenance: Follow coding standards and secure-development policies, complete security training and raise potential vulnerabilities appropriately. Record issues, update project briefs and technical documentation, maintain reusable components and templates, and contribute to logging, monitoring, troubleshooting, release processes and effective handovers.
- Project Delivery & Apprenticeship Development: Manage agreed tasks and priorities, communicate risks, blockers or changes in scope promptly, and work with support from the Engineering Manager and apprenticeship provider to follow a development plan, achieve competency milestones, act on feedback and maintain the evidence portfolio required for the Level 4 Software Development Apprenticeship.
