Summary

A Warehouse Apprentice is required to join our fast growing family online retail business. The candidate is required to show commitment and flexibility in the workplace, taking on many roles, with a view to grow with the business, taking on new challenges.

Wage

£15,600 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

As a major seller of party products online, the candidate must ensure that they are able to join us in our aim of providing the highest levels of customer service. The main roles and responsibilities of the role will be tailored around the individual’s interests and strengths but would include:

  • To pick and pack customer orders from our office based stock rooms
  • To answer customer queries on the telephone and online
  • To assist the management of stock
  • Work with our partners in business such as Amazon 

Further development of the candidate would also lead to opportunities in:

  • Website development
  • Stock sourcing

  • Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
  • Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
  • Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
  • support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
  • Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.

Training schedule

Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Apprenticeship Standard.

The Supply Chain Warehouse Operative is designed for warehouse operatives working in the goods in and out sector.

Following enrolment, learners engage in a blended programme of training and support that will include the occasional attendance at group training sessions in Shrewsbury, self-directed learning, email and face-to-face support from their trainer/assessor as well as a programme of training devised by the employer.

This apprenticeship will support your apprentice to become skilled and competent in core skills and knowledge and can be supplemented by the completion of level 2 Diploma in Storage and Warehousing.

The successful applicant will also complete Functional Skills at level 1 and progress onto level 2 (if applicable)

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 3)
  • Maths (grade 3)
