What you'll do at work

About the Role:

This exciting apprenticeship will give you the skills, experience and knowledge to become a highly specialised Asset Manager within the Services team.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Support demand and requirements analysis
  • Monitor asset performance
  • Support provisioning activities
  • Data quality, management and reporting
  • Process and governance compliance

 What You Will Learn:

Throughout the apprenticeship, you will gain experience and knowledge in:

  • Asset Management principles - understanding the asset lifecycle from acquisition and introduction to service, through repair, maintenance, support and disposal
  • Asset data and systems - maintaining records, configurations, and using asset management systems and tools effectively
  • Data analysis - identifying trends, demand, availability issues, risks and opportunities
  • Provisioning and spares - how repairs and spare requirements are determined, loaded, tracked and reported
  • Asset performance - using measures such as turnaround time, availability, resource and stock levels to assess performance
  • Process and governance - understanding why standardised processes, controls and governance matter and how to work within them
  • Reporting and presentations - turning data into meaningful reports, dashboards and recommendations
  • Problem solving and continuous improvement - identifying root causes, investigating issues and driving improvements
  • Stakeholder management - building confidence working with multiple stakeholders
  • Commercial and customer awareness - understanding how decisions support contractual requirements and business objectives
  • Risk management - identifying, assessing and escalating availability and support risks
  • Professional skills - communication, organisation, prioritisation, teamwork and project management skills

Training schedule

Apprenticeship Programme:

You will study towards a Level 4 Asset Manager Apprenticeship with Teesside University.

Delivered over 2 years, via a virtual delivery model, this programme will introduce you to the foundations of asset management including optimising performance, minimising costs, driving sustainability, enhancing decision making and meeting regulatory standards. This apprenticeship has been accredited by the Institute of Asset Management.

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

5 GCSE's Including English and Maths (grade 9-4 (A-C)

A Level in:

3 A Level's including Maths (grade Grade A-C / 64 UCAS points)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have the permanent right to work in the UK and be able to successfully complete and maintain UK Government security checks, including Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) screening and Security Clearance (SC), which is a government background check, before starting employment.

To be eligible for SC clearance, you will typically need to have lived in the UK continuously for the last five years. As part of the vetting process, you will be asked to provide evidence of your identity, right to work in the UK, any time spent overseas during the last five years, and your employment and/or education history. 

In addition, this role supports a UK Eyes Only programme and is therefore subject to government-mandated nationality restrictions. To satisfy the security clearance requirements for access to highly sensitive information, applicants must have been British citizens from birth and must not hold any other nationality. This requirement is determined by the UK Government and is a condition of programme access rather than an employment preference.
