Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and analytical Accounts Data Analyst Apprentice to join our Accounts/Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is interested in both finance and data analysis and wants to build a career while gaining a recognised Level 4 Data Analyst apprenticeship. What you'll do at work
As an Accounts Data Analyst Apprentice, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the accounts team with the collection, organisation and analysis of financial data
- Assisting with day-to-day financial reporting and management information
- Maintaining accurate financial spreadsheets, databases and reporting systems
- Using Microsoft Excel to analyse financial information, identify trends and produce reports
- Supporting the development of Power BI dashboards and visual reports
- Helping to analyse sales, costs, margins, revenue, expenses, cash flow and other key financial information
- Identifying trends, discrepancies and anomalies within financial data
- Assisting with data cleansing and quality checks to ensure information is accurate and reliable
- Combining information from different sources to create useful reports and analysis
- Producing regular and ad-hoc reports for the accounts and wider management teams
- Helping to automate repetitive reporting and data processes where appropriate
- Supporting the accounts team with reconciliations and investigation of differences
- Providing analysis that helps the business understand financial performance
- Presenting findings and insights clearly to colleagues and managers
- Maintaining confidentiality and following company procedures relating to financial information and data security
- Working with colleagues across the business to understand their reporting and data requirements
- Continuously looking for opportunities to improve the way financial information is collected, analysed and presented
- Additional roles within the business in sales and marketing

- apply statistical methodologies to data analysis tasks
- apply predictive analytics in the collation and use of data
- collaborate and communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders using appropriate styles and behaviours to suit the audience
- use a range of analytical techniques such as data mining, time series forecasting and modelling techniques to identify and predict trends and patterns in data
- collate and interpret qualitative and quantitative data and convert into infographics, reports, tables, dashboards and graphs
- select and apply the most appropriate data tools to achieve the optimum outcome
