Summary
Blue Coat Primary School are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant Apprentice to support teachers in the classroom whilst studying towards your Teaching Assistant Level 3 Qualification. Your role will be supporting class teachers enabling pupils to make the best use of the educational opportunities available to them.

The post is 30 hours per week - term time only working - 38 weeks per year with 5.6 paid weeks holiday.
Based on the full time equivalent salary of £24,019 per annum pro rata, the actual salary is £12,118 per annum / £1,009 per month for the first year.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
As a Teaching Assistant apprentice you will support teachers in the classroom in all aspects of teaching and learning whilst studying towards a Teaching Assistant Level 3 Qualification.
Tasks may include:
- Attending to pupils’ needs, including social, emotional, health, and welfare matters
- Under the direction of the class teacher support pupils’ learning using strategies appropriate to the needs of the pupils and provide modified resources as required
- Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress, achievement, behaviour etc
- Work towards developing pupils’ independence in learning and self-care needs
- Support pupils’ at lunch and break times as necessary and encourage safe, interactive play
- Undertake display work both within the classroom and in public areas

Training schedule
All training will be delviered in the workplace.
The level 3 qualification will be delivered by Gloucestershire College and will consist of both online and in person training and tutorials.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade Grade C / 4)
- Maths (grade Grade C / 4)
Desirable qualifications
GCSE in:
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
