What you'll do at work

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Assist with the development/improvement/rectification of production processes; the post holder will assist in the support of efficiency, productivity, quality and profitability and enable products to be produced at the rate needed to meet customer demand. · Undertaking detailed analysis using statistical methods process weakness will be evidenced and corrective actions applied; improvements will be measured and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) produced for management information. · Working alongside Design and Manufacturing departments, high quality production processes will be implemented for new products and day to day material process related issues resolved. · Enhance existing or development of new manufacturing processes. This will involve understanding how machinery and test equipment works and determining the right parameters, tools and materials to be used in the process. · Establish productive, dynamic, working relationships with the Engineering and Manufacturing departments, maintaining regular associations through meetings and communications to discuss any issues. The ideal candidate will be proactive, analytical, result orientated and willing to take on new challenges. They will also have excellent people skills, be able to pay attention to detail.

  • Comply with engineering standards and regulations. For example, British Standards (BS), International Organisation for Standardisation standards (ISO). European Norm (EN).
  • Analyse engineering and manufacturing data and information to support technical outputs. For example, read and interpret text, data, engineering drawings, work instructions, method statements, operation manuals.
  • Apply scientific, technical or engineering principles.
  • Apply problem solving techniques to solutions for identified technical problems.
  • Organise, plan and prioritise workflow and scheduling of work with stakeholders.
  • Identify, organise and use resources to complete tasks, considering cost, quality, safety, security and environmental impact.
  • Produce job specific technical outputs. For example, engineering drawings, quality control management, computer control programming, business improvement, adverse incident reports, technical investigations, equipment appraisals and specifications.
  • Provide support and guidance for handover of work to stakeholders. For example, checklists, product or process status, access to supporting documents.
  • Record information - paper based or electronic. For example, energy usage, equipment service records, test results, handover documents, checklists.
