Summary

VQ Solutions is seeking a Multichannel Marketing Apprentice to join Sumec’s innovative team. This apprenticeship offers a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in multi-channel marketing while building a strong foundation for a successful career with this product design, development and production company.

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and deliver engaging social media content across key platforms
  • Help plan and deliver social media campaigns aligned with wider retailer, marketplace and promotional activity
  • Assist with content design, point-of-sale (POS) materials and general brand assets
  • Collaborate with retailer marketing teams to support joint campaigns and promotional activity
  • Help drive sales and traffic directly to our websites through social media and email marketing
  • Support the planning and delivery of email marketing campaigns
  • Identify suitable exhibitions, shows and events for our brands to attend, with support from the wider team
  • Assist with organising and attending brand events and exhibitions
  • Assist with organising product photoshoots, videos and other content creation
  • Help improve website and marketplace product listings through better imagery, video and marketing content
  • Monitor marketing activity and help report on engagement, website traffic and sales performance
  • Bring forward creative ideas to improve brand awareness, engagement and sales

Preferred Skills & Interests

Preferred but not essential – training and support will be provided.

  • A good eye for design, branding and engaging content

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Develop or interpret briefs for external or internal stakeholders and measure delivery in-line with the specification and agreed timelines
  • Plan and coordinate a marketing activity using marketing tactics to acquire and retain one or more customer segments using available resources.
  • Contribute to the generation of innovative and creative approaches across video, images, and other formats, both online and offline, to support campaign development.
  • Use research/survey software to gather audience insight and/or evaluation to support the project.
  • Use copywriting techniques to write persuasive text/copy to meet a communications objective ensuring it is in-line with organisational brand guidelines.
  • Build and implement multi-channel campaigns across a variety of platforms, either offline or digital media.
  • Proofread marketing copy ensuring it is accurate, persuasive and is on brand.
  • Use software to design and create marketing assets to meet the technical specification.
  • Contribute to the research of external suppliers to support recommendations and procurement of marketing goods and services.
  • Organise offline and digital assets ensuring they are co-ordinated and legally compliant.
  • Use a content management system to publish text, images, and video/animated content.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets to support marketing activities such as project/budget planning and organisation of marketing assets.
  • Use technology and software packages to support day to day activities, e.g., stakeholder communications, development of briefs, data analysis, report writing, presentations and project management.
  • Identify and use data and technologies to achieve marketing objectives.
  • Monitor and amend campaigns to meet budget requirements including time and monetary costs.
  • Review campaigns regularly to ensure effectiveness, to optimise the results.

Training schedule

  • You will work towards a Level 3 Business Admin Apprenticeship, delivered by VQ Solutions
  • You will have a dedicated VQ Mentor and will also be supported internally by your manager
  • During this apprenticeship, you will develop a portfolio, attend workshop sessions and have regular reviews
  • The best part? All apprenticeship work will be completed during working hours

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

Maths and English (grade Minimum C/4)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements

Sumec UK is based in Escrick, so you will need your own transportation, access to good bus routes, or live nearby. However, a full driving licence and your own vehicle are preferred.
