Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
As our Business Administration & Sales Apprentice, you will work closely with the wider SwissTimepieces team and gain first-hand experience of how a professional luxury retail business operates. This is not a role where you will simply observe from the sidelines. You will gradually be given real responsibility, supported by structured training and guidance from an experienced team.
Your day could involve welcoming a client into the showroom, helping our sales team with an enquiry, updating information within our business systems, preparing a luxury watch for delivery, assisting with watch servicing and repair administration, or supporting enquiries relating to our bespoke engagement and wedding ring service.
You will gain exposure to several areas of the business, including luxury watch sales, part exchange, customer service, administration, watch servicing and repairs, and bespoke jewellery.
As your knowledge and confidence develop, so will your responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a warm and professional welcome to clients and visitors arriving at our showroom
- Assist the sales team with customer enquiries and general sales administration
- Support the team with emails, correspondence, data entry, filing and other day-to-day administrative tasks
- Maintain accurate customer, product and transaction information across our internal systems and CRM
- Assist with the careful preparation, packaging and presentation of luxury watches for customers
- Help ensure orders, documentation and customer information are accurate and complete
- Support the organisation of stock, paperwork and operational processes within the showroom
- Assist with the administration of watch servicing and repair enquiries, including customer communication, booking information and internal updates
- Support the team with enquiries relating to bespoke engagement rings and wedding rings
- Help maintain accurate records relating to customer watches, servicing jobs and bespoke jewellery enquiries
- Learn about the luxury watch industry, our products and the customer journey from initial enquiry through to purchase
- Gain an understanding of the customer journey across watch sales, part exchange, servicing, repairs and bespoke jewellery
- Work alongside different members of the team, gaining exposure to sales, operations, customer service and wider business activities
- Assist with additional business tasks and projects as priorities arise

About this employer
SwissTimepieces is not a corporate retailer. We are an independent, reputation-built luxury specialist where standards genuinely matter. Since starting in 2017, we have grown from a passion for watches into an established luxury business serving clients throughout the UK and beyond. Alongside buying, selling and part exchanging some of the world’s most prestigious watches, we also provide watch servicing and repairs and create bespoke engagement and wedding rings for our clients. You will therefore gain exposure to far more than traditional retail, learning how different parts of a luxury business work together to deliver an exceptional client experience. In return, we will provide structured development, genuine responsibility and the opportunity to build practical skills that will remain valuable throughout your career. We believe strongly in developing people from within. As the business grows, we want the people within it to grow too. If you are motivated by progression, take pride in your work and want to begin your career somewhere ambitious, professional and fast-moving, we would love to hear from you.
