Summary
We are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant Apprentice to work under the guidance of experienced professionals. The apprentice will engage directly with students, providing both individual and group support to facilitate academic learning and help develop their social and emotional skills.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Assist the lead teacher in planning and delivering lessons
- Help with the preparation of learning materials and resources
- Support students in their learning activities and help them stay focused and engaged
- Provide one-on-one support to students who require additional help
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Encourage student participation and promote confidence in learning
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation
- Assist in organising classroom displays and resources
- Help with the preparation of reports and assessments as needed
- Support the teacher in managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive conduct
- Assist in implementing school policies and procedures related to student behaviour and safety
- Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge
- Work towards relevant qualification
- Seek feedback from mentors and supervisors for continuous improvement

Training schedule
- Qualification: Level 3 Teaching Assistant (SEND) Apprenticeship Standard
- Functional Skills Level 2 in English and maths will be provided for those without GCSE Grade 4/C (or equivalent) if required
- All learning delivered online/ remotely alongside the role

Desirable qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 4-9 or Level 2 equivalent)
- Maths (grade 4-9 or Level 2 equivalent)
