An excellent opportunity to join Chaucer Foods as a Warehouse Operative Apprentice. You will gain hands-on experience within a busy warehouse environment, learning stock control, goods receipt and dispatch, production supply, health and safety procedures, and warehouse systems while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
As part of the warehouse team, you will:
- Load and unload goods, checking for damaged or missing items.
- Pick and replenish stock for production requirements.
- Return products to stock following production use.
- Carry out stock checks and assist with stock control activities.
- Update warehouse paperwork and systems accurately.
- Move stock safely using manual handling techniques and warehouse equipment.
- Support waste management and recycling processes.
- Follow health and safety, quality, environmental and hygiene procedures.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards through a clean-as-you-go approach.
- Work closely with colleagues across the warehouse and production teams.
- Assist with goods received, storage and dispatch operations.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties required by the business.

Training schedule
The apprentice will work towards the Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Apprenticeship Standard.
Training will include:
- Safe working practices within a warehouse environment.
- Stock control and inventory management.
- Receiving, storing and dispatching goods.
- Warehouse systems and documentation.
- Team working and communication skills.
- Quality, hygiene and food safety awareness.
Training will be delivered through a combination of workplace learning and regular sessions with Hull College.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 2)
- Maths (grade 2)
