We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Accounts Apprentice to join our busy Finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands on experience whilst developing the skills and knowledge for a successful career in accounting – all within a supportive environment.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with processing purchase invoices
- Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
- Maintaining accurate financial records and databases
- Assisting with bank reconciliations
- Helping prepare financial reports and spreadsheets
- Responding to supplier and customer queries
- Filing and organising financial documentation
- Supporting the finance team with administrative tasks as required
- Ensuring compliance with company procedures and financial regulation
Training and development:
- Attending online training sessions with our dedicated mentors
- Completing coursework and a portfolio of evidence as part of the apprenticeship program
- You will work towards a recognised qualification
- Ensuring best practices when working within our Finance Department
What we are looking for:
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Good numeracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in maths and English at Grade 4/C or above (preferred)

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues, such as reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience, and different media methods, with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Training schedule
- An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation
- Off the Job Training will follow the time allocations outlined in the Occupational Standard
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade C/4 or above)
- Maths (grade C/4 or above)
