Summary

The Production Apprentice will gain hands-on manufacturing experience across Bridgnorth production areas, focusing on sheet metal work and electromechanical assembly. As part of the Production team, they will support manufacturing activities while developing skills in safety, quality, problem solving and workplace discipline.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Learning & Development    

  • Complete the agreed apprenticeship programme, attend required college / training sessions and maintain evidence of learning and competence
  • Work through a structured training plan covering sheet metal processes, assembly processes, safe systems of work, quality expectations and workplace behaviours
  • Seek feedback, ask questions and take ownership of personal development, attendance, timekeeping and learning progress.

Sheet Metal Work    

  • Support basic sheet metal activities such as marking out, drilling, deburring, grinding, folding, fitting and preparation of parts under supervision
  • Learn to read simple drawings, operation sheets and work instructions, and understand how dimensions, tolerances and finish affect part quality.

Electromechanical Assembly        

  • Support assembly tasks involving mechanical components, brackets, panels, fasteners, wiring, basic electrical sub-assemblies and final fit-up operations
  • Use hand tools and simple production equipment safely and correctly, escalating issues where parts, tools or instructions are unclear

Quality & Continuous Improvement          

  • Follow work instructions, drawings and inspection requirements to help ensure parts are made right first time
  • Identify obvious defects, damage, shortages or process issues and report them promptly to the supervisor or trainer.

Health, Safety & Housekeeping     

Work safely at all times, follow risk assessments, PPE requirements, machine controls and company safety procedures.

Teamwork      

Work positively with Production, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse and other teams to support delivery, quality and customer service.
