Summary

Metreel Ltd are seeking an enthusiastic and confident Warehouse apprentice. You will become an integral part of the Operations team with a great opportunity to start your career in our business!

Wage

£15,392 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Receiving and Despatch of Goods according to procedures
  • Put away received goods in to the correct designated locations
  • Check goods for damage or missing parts upon receipt
  • Move and rearrange stock, either by hand or heavy lifting equipment
  • Process the appropriate records of all items that come in to or leave the warehouse
  • Pack, label and wrap goods as required by Packing standards
  • Loading goods on to trucks for shipment
  • Carry out stock counts as and when required
  • General Warehouse duties
  • Ensure all areas of the warehouse are clean, tidy and safe
  • To work as part of a team to ensure all duties in the warehouse are completed
  • Liaise with all departments in the Company, Supplier, Agents and Customers
  • To work in accordance with Health and Safety and Hygiene regulations and to report all accidents

  • Decant, pack products in line with organisational procedures.
  • Communicate with others verbally, for example internal and external customers, colleagues, and managers.
  • Communicate in writing with others, for example internal and external customers, colleagues and managers.
  • Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
  • Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
  • Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
  • Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
  • Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
  • support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
  • Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
  • Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
  • Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules.
  • Carry out and record learning and development activities.

Desirable qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade D/3 or above or equivalent)
  • Maths (grade D/3 or above or equivalent)
