What you'll do at work
The role overview:
As an Accounts Apprentice, you will support the finance team with basic bookkeeping, invoice processing, and maintaining accurate financial records.
You will use accounting software QuickBooks, while gaining hands-on experience and completing relevant training.
This role offers a strong introduction to finance and the opportunity to develop essential skills within a supportive team.
Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping Support: Assist with daily bookkeeping tasks, including accurate data entry and the maintenance of up-to-date financial records
- Accounts Payable: Support the accounts payable process by verifying invoices, processing payments, and ensuring supplier information is accurately recorded
- Accounts Receivable: Support the accounts receivable process by raising invoice, and ensuring customer information is accurately recorded
- Accounting Systems: Utilise accounting software QuickBooks, and other relevant tools to manage and update financial information
- Payroll: Support the payroll process by collating information and data input to company templates
- Staff Expenses: Support the expense process by collating information and data input to company templates where required
- Financial Reporting: Help prepare financial reports, claims and support basic month-end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate financial updates
- Training & Development: Participate in ongoing training to build knowledge of core accounting principles, procedures, and best practices
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members on various tasks and projects, contributing to a positive and supportive working environment

- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
