Summary

Reckitt is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Operations Engineering Apprentice to join its Nottingham site. This Level 2 apprenticeship offers a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while working towards a recognised engineering qualification.

What you'll do at work

Reckitt is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Operations Engineering Apprentice to join its Nottingham site. This Level 2 apprenticeship offers a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while working towards a recognised engineering qualification.

The apprentice will support the engineering and operations teams in maintaining and improving production equipment, ensuring efficiency, safety, and product quality. You will learn how to diagnose faults, carry out basic maintenance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in engineering, a willingness to learn, and a proactive attitude. Reckitt will provide structured training, mentorship, and the chance to build a solid foundation for a long-term career in engineering within a global organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance, repair, and continuous operation of manufacturing equipment
  • Assist in diagnosing faults and carrying out basic engineering repairs under supervision
  • Learn and apply health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Participate in preventative maintenance activities to minimise downtime
  • Work with the engineering team to improve production processes and efficiency
  • Help monitor equipment performance and report any issues
    Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and problem-solving activities
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out and update systems as required
  • Work collaboratively with production, quality, and engineering teams
  • Attend training sessions and college as part of the apprenticeship program

Training will be delivered one day per week, term time, and is based at our Engineering and Electrical center and our Ruddington campus. Facilities are in creation to enrich the student experience, developing them with the necessary skills using industry recognised equipment to ensure the apprentice receives training closely matched to the employer’s and Industry.

GCSE in:

English, maths & a science subject (grade 4-9)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
