Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Working in a team of 6 in a clean, modern facility, picking, labelling and packaging medicines which treat immunodeficient diseases.
Understanding the manufacturing and distribution process you will be trained to:
- Understand Good Distribution Practices and demonstrate how to apply the principles
- Ensure that all Health & Safety procedures are followed
- Participate in training in all aspects of Warehousing including forklift, Health and Safety, Manual Handling etc.
- Understand and follow the principles of the company's Quality Management and Business Continuity Systems
- Help to ensure that the warehouse is maintained in a neat, clean and tidy state
- Provide assistance with deliveries/placement of Grifols supplied instrumentation as instructed by the Warehouse Manager
- Proactively engage and take responsibility for learning by seeking support as required

What you'll learn

- Decant, pack products in line with organisational procedures.
- Communicate with others verbally, for example internal and external customers, colleagues, and managers.

- Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
- Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
- Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
- Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
- Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
- support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
- Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
- Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.

Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 3 or D)
- Maths (grade 3 or D)

Other requirements
There is no heavy lifting but the role is active and you will be on your feet most of the day. The Warehouse is a clean and restricted area
