Summary
Beyond Accouting are looking for someone who is organised, eager to learn, and interested in building a career in accountancy. The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude towards working with clients and financial systems.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Beyond Accounting are looking for a motivated Apprentice Accountant to join our team. You will initially support bookkeeping tasks using Xero and Apron, maintain accurate records, and communicate with clients to gather information and keep accounts organised
- As you develop, you will progress to preparing VAT returns, CIS returns, company accounts, and self-assessment tax returns, with full training and support provided throughout your apprenticeship

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Training schedule
- Applicants should be keen to develop a career in accountancy and be able to attend weekly face to face/online-live teaching and self-study sessions for the AAT level 2 and Accounts Assistant Apprenticeship at FAR Accountancy Training in Askham Bryan, York
- Apprentices will receive training and mentoring in the workplace to embed the duties, knowledge, skills and behaviour required by the Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard with training and development by FAR Training, through a combination of online-live / classroom-based lessons and self-study assignments

Other requirements
- It is expected that the individual who fills the vacancy will work from our office based at Tower House, 2c, Askham Fields Ln, York YO23 3NU
- Please ensure that you can travel to our premises for a 9.00am start
- When probation is completed we are happy with working from home
- Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and off-the-job training hours that's part of their apprenticeship (one day per week)

- There will be opportunities for you to take on further responsibilities to develop and grow. There will be opportunities for you to progress onto level 3 and 4 apprenticeships in the future
- There are also opportunities for us to support your studies into ACCA or CTA in the future
