Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Collect outstanding private fees from clients in a professional and timely manner, following up on overdue invoices through phone calls, emails, and letters.
- Collect fees directly requested by members, liaising with them to ensure they have received accurate and up-to-date fee notes.
- Manage the daily fees inbox, prioritising and actioning incoming fee queries and collection requests, ensuring all client communications are addressed promptly and courteously.
- Manage the escalation process for unresolved client queries, following established procedures and keeping all relevant parties informed.
- Provide support to the Fees Team with any ad-hoc tasks as required, demonstrating a willingness to help and contribute to the team's overall success.
- Provide support to the Finance Team in relation to the allocation of cash and chasing up outstanding remittances.
- Work towards achieving individual and team monthly targets for fee collection, analysing data and trends to identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the system, ensuring all client and member financial data is properly recorded and easily accessible.
- Generate and provide clients with statements of accounts and copies of fee notes, ensuring they have accurate and up-to-date records of their transactions.

- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 5/C and above)
- Maths (grade 6/B and above)
