Summary

Join our busy team, this role will assist and support the Operations & Logistics department, taking responsibility for the receipt of goods. Checking for quality of goods received and be responsible for maintaining an accurate stock count, ensuring it is labelled and located accurately and on the system.

£16,640 to £26,436.80, depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Main daily responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe receipt of good inwards
  • Check all deliveries for accuracy and quality
  • Accurate processing of goods through in house computer system
  • Operating Flexi Forklift
  • Oversee accurate upkeep of stock records both computerised and paper
  • Handling the operation of loading/unloading of goods from vehicles
  • Maintenance of warehouse & handling equipment to a safe standard
  • Accurate Picking of Orders

This role will also include:

  • The role will also include time in Procurement and Sales
  • If the candidate is a driver they will also assist with light deliveries
  • Training will include the use of forklift trucks

  • Communicate with others verbally, for example internal and external customers, colleagues, and managers.
  • Communicate in writing with others, for example internal and external customers, colleagues and managers.
  • Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
  • Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
  • Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
  • Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
  • Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
  • support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
  • Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
  • Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
  • Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules.
  • Carry out and record learning and development activities.

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 9-4 (A*-C))
  • Mathematics (grade 9-4 (A*-C))

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
