Summary

New Level Academy is dedicated to supporting young people who have disengaged from traditional education. We provide a nurturing environment where students can develop practical skills and gain valuable qualifications. We are seeking a skilled tradesperson to pass on their knowledge and skills.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

8:00 AM- 9:00 AM:

  • Team Briefing
  • Review daily objectives and tasks
  • Discuss any specific needs or challenges

9:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Practical Training Sessions:

  • Conduct hands-on training in carpentry, bricklaying, plumbing, electrics, or painting & decorating
  • Provide guidance and support to young people

11:00 AM- 12:00 PM: Community Repairs:

Perform practical repairs in the local community (e.g., fixing fences, repairing plumbing issues, painting community centers

Afternoon:12:00 PM- 1:00 PM: Lunch Break

1:00 PM- 3:00 PM: Young People Assessments:

  • Observe and assess apprentices' progress
  • Provide constructive feedback and set goals

3:00 PM- 4:00 PM: Community Repairs:

Continue with practical repairs in the community (e.g., electrical repairs, bricklaying projects)

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Conduct sustainable assessment practice working within organisational, legal, and ethical frameworks, including confidentiality and safeguarding.
  • Produce a plan for assessment.
  • Select method(s) to assess learner(s) in line with organisational and regulatory requirements.
  • Make accurate assessment judgments against agreed standards.
  • Communicate with learner and relevant stakeholders to support assessment practice.
  • Provide constructive feedback to support the learner to progress.
  • Contribute to standardisation, moderation and quality assurance procedures.
  • Develop and maintain records of assessment, complying with quality, confidentiality and data protection requirements.
  • Facilitate access to relevant, current information advice and guidance.
  • Apply holistic assessment in practice to support wider skills development.
  • Identify and implement professional development opportunities to maintain occupational competency, including sustainable practice and digital literacy.
