You will be involved in managing company administration and risk, getting firsthand exposure to what's involved in running a scaling business.

What you'll do at work
The Role
As a Compliance & Risk Officer Apprentice, you’ll start your career with strong foundations in compliance and risk, learning what you need to know about the regulations and processes required to perform your role. Applying learning to your day-to-day responsibilities, you’ll stay up to date with key regulatory and legislative changes while actively supporting your organisation’s compliance.
This apprenticeship will equip you with the skills to identify and analyse risk and compliance issues. You'll work with data and reports to find innovative solutions and tackle your organisation's challenges head-on.
You will spend 80% of your time on the job putting your new skills into practice. The remaining 20% will be dedicated to off-the-job learning through a course provider, where you will work towards gaining your International Compliance Association (ICA) Certificate. Your role will be to learn and work aligned with best practices, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and compliance in all administrative tasks, with the goal of becoming a qualified compliance professional.
Key Responsibilities
- Understanding and maintaining our ISO accreditations: 9001, 14001, 2000-1 and 27001.
- Actively helping to gain the ISO 42001 accreditation, ensuring we remain compliant with all requirements to maintain these standards.
- Assisting colleagues in tracking and analysing compliance and risk metrics.
- Liaising directly with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Researching, implementing, and rolling out new company processes related to risk and compliance.
- First point of review for new client contracts, flagging any conflicts with our terms and insurances and ensuring appropriate records are maintained.
- Participating in tasks as required and identifying opportunities to make the company more efficient.

- Manage records in order to meet audit requirements of the organisation.
- Produce evidence-based reports and management information for stakeholders considering visualisation techniques when presenting data.
- Select and use communication methods applicable to the audience and circumstances, for example, presentations, phone, face to face, email, virtual meetings.
- Communicate about products with customers, colleagues or stakeholders in different styles, for example visually, verbally, written, using e-comms.
- Build and maintain working relationships.
- Identify own training needs and seek feedback to improve performance and service delivered.
- Apply continuous improvement techniques when delivering improved compliance outcomes and mitigating risks.
- Record information electronically and make use of available technology, for example Management Information Systems (MIS), spreadsheets, presentation software, word processing, email, virtual communication.
- Handle data safely and securely and share information in compliance with data protection legislation and organisational policy.
