Summary

We are looking for 2 apprentices to carry out repair and overhaul of various pumps and valves in our Loughborough workshop. Apprentices will be assessed on a regular basis to reflect lessons learned during college time and while in the workshop environment. They will work alongside experienced engineers along with former apprentices.

Wage

£15,392 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Our apprentices will be taught and mentored to be able to carry out multiple tasks including:

  • Remove pumps to component level, assess condition and compile report
  • Build pumps and valves to new condition ready for return to site.
  • Carry out fault finding on equipment returned to our facility for inspection

Full training will take place in order to make sure the above requirements are done to the highest standards.

  • Apply health, safety, and environmental procedures in compliance with regulations, standards, and guidance. For example, signage and barriers, working at height, confined spaces, and COSHH.

Training schedule

  • Attendance to Loughborough College one day per week, term time only where you will study set units that map directly into your apprenticeship
  • Diarised visits from dedicated Trainer/Assessor

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

5 GCSE's including Maths, English and Science (grade C / 4 or equivalent)
