Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
You’ll be involved in helping clients solve complex problems using data and technology, all while building a strong foundation for a future career in tech consulting.
Responsibilities:
- Support the development and delivery of data and AI solutions, gaining hands-on experience with technologies such as machine learning, data science, and Agentic AI under the guidance of experienced team members
- Collaborate with project teams and clients to understand business challenges, contributing to data-driven approaches while learning how insights support decision-making
- Assist in the design and implementation of data pipelines, models, and visualisations, while actively learning best practices in data engineering, architecture, and analytics
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development, building technical and consulting skills through structured training, mentoring, and exposure to real-world projects and client environments
About you:
- A-levels or equivalent (must have a level 2 GCSE in both English & maths)
- Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail
- Engaging and able to easily build rapport with others
- Keen interest in technology and possessing good IT skills
- Enjoys the challenge of a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Demonstrates a developing understanding of coding principles (e.g., Python, C#, Java), with growing confidence in applying basic programming skills to support tasks such as data analysis, automation, and solution development, under guidance and mentorship
- Due to the nature of this role successful candidates may need to undergo security clearance
- To be eligible for this role you must have lived in the UK for at least 5 consecutive years

- Use data systems securely to meet requirements and in line with organisational procedures and legislation including principles of Privacy by Design
- implement the stages of the data analysis lifecycle
- apply principles of data classification within data analysis activity
- analyse data sets taking account of different data structures and database designs
- assess the impact on user experience and domain context on data analysis activity
- identify and escalate quality risks in data analysis with suggested mitigation or resolutions as appropriate
- undertake customer requirements analysis and implement findings in data analytics planning and outputs
- identify data sources and the risks and challenges to combination within data analysis activity
- apply organizational architecture requirements to data analysis activities
- apply statistical methodologies to data analysis tasks
- apply predictive analytics in the collation and use of data
- collaborate and communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders using appropriate styles and behaviours to suit the audience
- use a range of analytical techniques such as data mining, time series forecasting and modelling techniques to identify and predict trends and patterns in data
- collate and interpret qualitative and quantitative data and convert into infographics, reports, tables, dashboards and graphs

Training schedule
The apprenticeship takes place over a 14-month period where you will:
- Gain a nationally recognised qualification in Data Analyst (Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard)
- Learn on the job alongside receiving external training and coaching
- Gain experience across multiple projects, clients, and sectors.
- Broaden your understanding across data and AI specialisms by rotating across business areas, such as:
- Machine Learning and Agentic AI
- Data Analytics
- Data Science
- Data Engineering
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 4 (C))
- Maths (grade 4 (C))
