Progressive Technology Ltd is a rapidly expanding Engineering Business based in Newbury Berkshire. The buisness has grown to be a leading supplier of CNC machined, 3D printed and composite components. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Junior IT Technician to join our dynamic IT team.

IT solutions technician (level 3)
Hours
Monday to Friday 8am - 4.30pm, 40 hours per week. If over the age of 18, 8am - 5pm, 42.5 hours per week. Please note this role is fully officed-based

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Serving as the first point of contact for IT Support within the organisation
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining software and hardware components of the computer and network systems
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware issues
  • Repairing and replacing damaged computer and network components 
  • Supporting employees whenever they encounter challenges with computers and network devices.
  • Maintaining and updating technical documentation regularly
  • Testing new hardware and software before full-scale installation
  • Maintaining asset inventory

  • Apply continuous professional development CPD to support their own learning, business needs and technical developments.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

English (grade 4)
