Year 1: Monday - Thursday, 9.00am - 4.00pm at NC Group, Friday, 9.00am - 2.00pm at 3M / NC Group. Years 2 - 4: Monday - Thursday, 7.00am - 3.00pm, Friday, 7.00am - 2.00pm. Potential for shift work in year 4.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Assist maintenance technicians with planned preventive maintenance on production machinery
  • Support fault‑finding and basic troubleshooting on mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Learn to safely use tools, test equipment, and maintenance systems under supervision
  • Help with equipment installation, setup, and calibration
  • Perform routine inspections and reporting equipment issues
  • Support continuous‑improvement and reliability activities as directed by engineering staff
  • Complete 3M training and development modules related to site safety, maintenance practices, and technical skills
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and productivity
  • Follow all 3M safety procedures, regulatory requirements, and site standards
