Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to join our team for Cotswold Collections. As an Accounts Assistant Apprentice, we are looking for someone to study AAT level 2. The purpose of the role is to support the Accounts and finance team.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
As an Account Apprentice, you will have a solid grasp of and ability to handle numbers and numeracy skills. You will need to complete tasks involving numerical data accurately and efficiently. You will be part of an efficient and effective accounts and finance team.
Day-to-day duties will include:
- Entry of financial records and supporting role within the financial department.
- Entering financial data into databases.
- Processing of income and payments.
- Processing business invoices.
- Updating financial records.
- Assisting preparation of balance sheet and income statements.
- Reconciling bank statements.
- The creation of analysis reports.
- Performing general administrative duties, for example, filing and organising documents.
Essential & Desired skills:
- A candidate's ambition, willingness and interest in working with numbers need to be demonstrated.
- Attention to detail, not just in terms of accuracy, but also in terms of spotting discrepancies and preventing any potential financial inconsistencies.
- Familiarity with Excel.
- Confident Communication – for consulting with customers, suppliers, and staff in other departments.
- A flexible working attitude, being prepared to undertake non-financial administrative duties and assist other departments if the need arises.
- Basic numeracy, literacy and IT skills.
- Willingness to learn.
- Flexible work ethic, prepared to help staff from all departments.

What you'll learn

- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Training schedule
Apprenticeship Details – 17 months expected duration to complete, working towards your Level 2 Accounts Assistant Qualification (All learning is delivered online/ remote).
Training Provider: LMP Education (rated 1st best UK training provider).

GCSE in:
- English (grade A*-C/9-4 or Level 2 equivalent)
