Summary

We have a fantastic opportunity for a FINANCE AND ACCOUNTS APPRENTICE to join our friendly team based in Luton, working for Neville TrustReporting to the Financial Controller, the post holder will support the delivery of our accounts provision across our group of companies completing a Level 2 Finance and Accounts apprenticeship.

Wage

£14,722.50 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Processing cash book transactions via Excel sheets and/or relevant software
  • Entering financial information into appropriate software programs
  • Processing weekly Bacs payments
  • Processing credit card statements and business expenses
  • Checking supplier statements and requesting missing invoices
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
  • Provide holiday cover as and when required

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Record transactional data.
  • Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
  • Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
  • Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
  • Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)

Due to the nature of our clients and the environments in which we operate, the successful candidate will be required to provide evidence of Right to Work in the UK and may be required to successfully complete a DBS check and/or additional client-led security clearances (which may include, but are not limited to BPSS, site-based vetting, or other security screening). Please note these requirements may be introduced at any point in time depending on project, site and client requirements.
