Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Provide first-line technical support to end users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
  • Assist with device setup, configuration, and maintenance
  • Help maintain IT documentation, including user guides and troubleshooting logs
  • Support IT projects, including software rollouts and upgrades.
  • Assist with deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of applications
  • Learn to manage version control, CI/CD pipelines, and basic automation tasks
  • Collaborate with our IT and development teams to improve system reliability and performance
  • Gain understanding of security best practices in development and operations workflows

  • use digital resources to extend own knowledge and skills relevant to their role
  • risk assess the organisational impact of decisions that they take
  • use digital systems to identify productivity and performance improvements

Training schedule

  • All training will be done within the workplace 
  • The apprentice will work towards a Level 3 Digital Support Technician qualification, alongside receiving hands-on, in-house training at our HQ in Horwich. This will support their development into a confident IT Developer & Digital Support Operative, with opportunities to broaden their responsibilities and progress within the team as they develop.
     

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Math (grade 4)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

  • Location to be within 5 miles of BL6 7NY or within 10 miles if they drive
  • Requires willingness to learn and work both independently and as part of a team
