Summary

A fantastic opportunity to work under the supervision of our long term and extremely experienced assembly team, the Apprentice Assembly Engineering Operative will be responsible for assisting with the preparation, assembly and quality control of Furnitubes’ finished products. 

Wage

£15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Responsibilities:

  • Read and comprehend drawings instructions and follow established procedures
  • Collect all material and equipment needed to begin the process
  • Take precision measurements to ensure perfect fit of components for assembly
  • Select or modify components according to measurements and specifications
  • Treat and / or seal wood components if required
  • Align material and put together parts to build more complex units
  • Check output to ensure highest quality
  • Maintain equipment in good condition
  • Maintaining appropriate systems with complete, accurate and timely data. This includes, for example, using the ERP system (currently MIE Trak) to monitor jobs, and updating quality records with information and photos
  • Report on issues, malfunction or defective parts
  • Working proactively with other departments
  • Actively demonstrating Furnitubes’ Core Values and ensuring these are always projected when dealing with all internal and external stakeholders

  • Workshops delivered one day a week at Ashford College 
  • Trainer visits to the workplace once every 6-8 weeks

GCSE in:

English and Maths (grade 4/C/Level 2 Functional Skills)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
