Summary

From day one you’ll be employed by Kori Construction and working on a live construction site, gaining practical experience in site supervision and contract delivery. You’ll work closely with a Contracts Manager, Project Manager and Site Managers to support the safe, efficient and compliant running of our operations on site.

£19,000 a year

Work

  • .Supervision of specialist contractors
  • .The control of health and safety standards on construction projects
  • .Recording, controlling and reporting on progress on a construction project
  • .The minimisation of the environmental impact of construction projects
  • .Control of the quality of work on a construction project
  • .Managing orders and deliveries of building materials
  • .Complete site reports and other records
  • .Assisting commercial colleagues with the monitoring of costs on a construction project
  • .Personnel management, engagement and coordination

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Identify risk of activities and encourage all employees to demonstrate safety-conscious behaviours.
  • Assess, identify and record the environmental impact of projects.
  • Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction projects.
  • Use effective management principles and be able to supervise construction workers.
  • Understand overall plan for project and measure and record progress against plan.
  • Assess and report on quality standards and assist in commissioning of finished construction projects.
  • Understand financial and legal constraints and measure and record progress against budget.

Training schedule

Most of your apprenticeship will be spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience, as well as attending training sessions that follow a blended learning module, delivered primarily on-the-job during working hours. A structured learning and assessment plan will ensure progress is regularly evaluated by the Training Provider throughout the course.

  • IT literacy, including use of computers and handheld devices
  • Ideally GCSE English and maths Grade 3 or above, however, Level 1 in English and Maths can be achieved during the apprenticeship
