The role covers all aspects of warehousing; you will develop a variety of skills & will be supported in achieving the Level 2 Warehouse Operative qualification alongside the role.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
The ideal candidate will be located between Stevenage and Welwyn Garden City as we are currently located in Old Knebworth but may decide to relocate to Welwyn Garden City in the foreseeable future.
- Goods inwards, checking and recording inward shipments from suppliers
- Picking, packing and preparation of orders for despatch to customers and international distributors
- Stock control, including stock management, stock-taking and reporting on any issues relating to product stock
- Product assembly and packaging
- Stock reconfiguration and combining of individual products into bundles
- Using IT & equipment to monitor and locate stock
- Working alongside other colleagues in the business to ensure the smooth running of the warehouse, and other areas of the business
- Any other duties, as and when required

- Communicate with others verbally, for example internal and external customers, colleagues, and managers.
- Communicate in writing with others, for example internal and external customers, colleagues and managers.
- Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
- Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
- Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
- Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
- Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
- support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
- Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
- Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.

You will be supported by a Skills Coach to achieve the qualification through one-to-one teaching & learning sessions, delivered on Teams and face to face at your usual place of work, and through self-directed study using the virtual learning environment.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade C/4 or above)
- Maths (grade C/4 or above)

Other requirements
The ideal candidate will be located between Stevenage and Welwyn Garden City as we are currently located in Old Knebworth but may decide to relocate to Welwyn Garden City in the foreseeable future.
Whilst our products are small and lightweight, some bulk shipments to international distributors may contain boxes that weigh up to 25 kilograms each. These require some limited handling prior to despatch.
