Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

This role is part of a dedicated cell within a shift team, which includes Thermoforming and Extrusion operations. Working closely with the Operational Team Leader (OTL), the MSO is responsible for first-line maintenance, tool changes within the cell, and process control. In the absence of the OTL, the MSO may also be expected to assume additional responsibilities and provide leadership support as needed.

  • First line maintenance

  • Tooling, setting, product changeovers to plan

  • Facilitating the training/mentoring of colleagues
  • Team cover on other duties e.g. Machine Operative / Packing
  • Problem solving within the cell
  • Material movement and control
  • Identification and implementation of waste reduction initiatives
