Emma Forsyth Equestrian have a position available for an apprentice to join their team and support with general running of their busy commercial yard.Emma Forsyth is a former 5 star event rider, UKCCL3 coach with BE, and also a List 4 BD Judge - and has the knowledge and experience to give the successful candidate the best chance to succeed.

Wage

£15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

Riding is possible for a suitably capable jockey. General duties will include:

  • Lunging
  • Feeding
  • Grooming
  • Mucking Out 
  • Turning out
  • Paddock cleaning 
  • Tack cleaning 
  • Hacking (suitable level rider)

Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

  • All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours
  • Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer
  • A combination of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach

Desirable qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements

Must have previous experience with large horses. Livery for own horse is available but unfortunately no accommodation is available. Candidate must be honest and self motivated to work to a high standard in industry time. A cheerful person who has a true love for horses and is willing to offer them the best of care at all times. You must be a UK resident or have lived in the EU for 3 years or more.
