Summary

Assisting in the production and processing of apple juice and cider. Various seasonal operations but mainly packaging, hygiene and cleaning and general production assistant in all areas. Seasonal operations will also include orchard maintenance and harvesting. Working in farm buildings all year round.

Training schedule

  • The training will be on-site and the qualification at the end will be a Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative
  • Training will be constant throughout the job, with 3-4 hours each week put to one side for coursework to be done on-site

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade Grade 9 – 4 / A* - C)
  • Maths (grade Grade 9 – 4 / A* - C)

Other requirements

You MUST be prepared to commit to your work and training for the duration of the apprenticeship. About this employer

A growing family cider business that has developed substantially in the last few years thanks to investment within the cidery as well as creating a new visitor centre that attracts thousands of visitors both locally and from further afield. The farm is in the village of Long Sutton, South Somerset and has full traceability of their product due to all apples being harvested from their own orchards as well as pressed on site. We currently have a team of seven, all of whom live locally and have varying roles within the business.
