Brightshire Accountants are looking for 3 new Accountancy Apprentice. You will be studying toward your Assistant Accountant A
For the right candidates, we offer a full training programme to gain the AAT Accountancy Technician qualification through the Babington Business College apprenticeship programme. Depending on prior qualifications, the apprenticeship will start at either Level 2 or Level 3 in accounting. The role also opens the door to further progression, with the potential to move on to the next level of the AAT.
You will support our team across a wide range of duties, including:
Duties consist of but are not limited to the following:
Assisting with financial and account management preparation for Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies
Assisting with managing client expectations and deadlines
Assisting with the preparation of personal and business tax returns
Carrying out bookkeeping activities, including journal postings and ledger reconciliations
Processing client records accurately using Xero, QuickBooks and other accountancy software such as IRIS
Preparation of VAT returns and management accounts
Assisting with general administrative duties, including meeting and greeting clients, filing, answering the telephone and supporting the team to meet deadlines as required
Assisting with payroll activities for numerous clients.
Company secretarial, confirmation statements and company's house forms
Answering inbound calls and directing accordingly
General admin duties where required

Work

What you'll do at work

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Assist with the investigation and response to financial information queries.
- Record and analyse financial data using the organisation’s standard tools and processes.
- Apply double entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process financial documents, generate financial statements and report financial information to users of accounts.
- Assist with production of accurate financial information for the preparation of accounts.
- Reconcile financial data, such as, preparation of reconciliations or review of reconciliations.
- Investigate, resolve or escalate transactional queries and errors within their remit as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
- Communicate financial information in a way that non-finance stakeholders can interpret and understand.
- Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accounting software and applications.
- Use software packages to assist with basic accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
- Communicate using varying approaches and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
