Summary

As an apprentice warehouse operative, you will join our high performing warehouse team which will see you building new skills, while applying your knowledge to real-world live projects. There will be plenty of opportunities to explore your potential and you’ll enjoy full support from your line manager.

Your normal working hours are 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. Inclusive of a lunch break directed by your manager. Hours may vary depending on customer and team requirements. Working hours TBC

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • You will learn how to manage inbound and outbound deliveries of key equipment for our engineering teams
  • You will inspect deliveries to ensure all products meet quality standards
  • Report any product discrepancies will also be part of your role
  • You will learn how to manage stock levels and oversee inventory of existing products
  • Training will be provided on how to use our stock management system to monitor stock levels
  • You will use forklifts to store incoming deliveries
  • Your tasks will also include outbound order picking, selecting products from stock, and ensuring all products are included in orders
  • Finally, you will create shipping labels and send order confirmations to customers

  • Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
  • Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
  • Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
  • Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
  • support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
  • Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
  • Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.

  • This will be done remotely whilst working in your role

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade Level 5)
  • Maths (grade Level 5)
