Summary

We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic and dedicated Apprentice to join our award-winning team. As the Apprentice Workshop Technician, you will need to be methodical and organised. You will be required to complete a Level 2 work-based Apprenticeship course ‘Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Standard’.

£15,704 to £25,396.80, depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

You will undertake training and receive guidance to gain the knowledge to complete the following responsibilities:

  • Measuring and cutting to bespoke sizes all our cut-to-size matting
  • Making handmade mat products, skills that have been used for hundreds of years
  • Package orders to a high standard, ready to be collected
  • Helping in the fulfilment of other orders
  • Working alongside the Customer Service team to deliver a high standard of service
  • Receiving and unloading of deliveries, checking the deliveries against the delivery notes
  • Stock taking
  • Checking in returns, and actioning with appropriate parties
  • Book despatch requests with the delivery service
  • Keep the stores secure, ensuring all stock is booked out/in correctly
  • Ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained and escalating issues relating to possible stock shortages
  • Use appropriate manual handling equipment
  • General housekeeping
  • Undertake any other relevant tasks that may be required

  • Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
  • Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
  • Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
  • Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
  • support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
  • Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
  • Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
  • Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules.
  • Carry out and record learning and development activities.

Training schedule

  • A dedicated work-based trainer will be assigned to the candidate to provide them with support and guidance throughout the course
  • This is a predominantly work-based programme with College attendance required once a month
  • All learning will take place at the candidate's place of employment/College and within their contracted working hours
