Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

Training schedule

  • Learn on-the-job in your workplace, with support from experienced staff
  • Complete a nationally recognised Level 4 apprenticeship
  • Spend one day per week in off-the-job learning (training sessions, workshops or online study)
  • Build a portfolio using your real work experiences
  • Receive regular supervision, coaching and feedback
  • Complete a final assessment through a work-based project and discussion

You’ll train with a specialist apprenticeship provider, learning on the job in your workplace and spending one day per week in off-the-job learning. Training includes workshops, online learning and ongoing support to help you build your skills and prepare for your final assessment.

Other requirements

We’re looking for caring, reliable individuals with a genuine interest in supporting children and young people. You’ll be willing to work on a rota basis, build positive relationships, follow safeguarding procedures and complete required training. An enhanced DBS check is required.
