Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to join Clarksfield Primary team. As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice, you will gain many new skills to help you develop throughout the apprenticeship.

Wage

£13,741 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

During your time as a Teaching Assistant Apprentice, you will be based in a classroom environment and will help support the young learners within their lessons and also will be involved in planning lessons. Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Work under the direction of the line manager, class teachers, and other staff to support the learning of whole classes, selected groups or individuals as instructed
  • Promote positive pupil behaviour in line with academy policies and help keep pupils on task
  • Interact with, and support pupils, according to individual needs and skills
  • Raise standards of achievement for all pupils
  • Encourage pupils to become more independent learners
  • Provide support for their emotional, social, and physical welfare
  • Support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of school life
  • Participating in the performance and development review process, taking personal responsibility for identification of learning, development and training opportunities in discussion with line manager
  • To support learning by arranging/providing resources for lessons/activities under the direction of the teacher

  • Support the well-being and mental health of learners.
  • Observe, record, and report on learners in line with organisational procedures.
  • Apply methods of formative assessment.
  • Use up to date technology safely, to support learning.
  • Encourage safe use of technology by learners.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
  • Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
  • Provide feedback to learners.

Training schedule

Apprenticeship Details - 16 months expected duration to complete, working towards your Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification. (All learning is delivered online/remote). 

Training Provider: LMP Education (rated 1st best UK training provider).

Functional Skills in English and maths if required.
