Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

The key aim within this role is to ensure smooth warehouse operations and the timely preparation of materials.

This is a varied role and you will be completing both general warehouse duties and light production tasks.

You will receive full training in all elements of the job role.

Responsibilities include

• Goods In/Out: Accurately receiving, checking, and storing incoming stock, and preparing outgoing project materials for dispatch.

• Inventory Management: Maintaining precise inventory records using our stock management system and performing regular stock counts.
• Order Picking & Packing: Picking specific lighting components according to project specifications and ensuring they are packed safely for transit.

• Light Assembly/Modification: Performing basic, clean assembly, modification, or wiring of lighting components as required by project needs (full training provided).

• Quality Control: Inspecting products for damage or defects and ensuring all items meet our high-quality standards.

• Organisation & Safety: Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised warehouse and production area, adhering strictly to all health and safety guidelines.

• Logistics Support: Assisting with loading and unloading vehicles and organising transport where necessary.

  • support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
  • Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
  • Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.

Training schedule

This programme is delivered via a 2 week block release delivery model. You will be working to complete a Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative apprenticeship standard, including any required Functional Skills.

You will work with expert assessors and tutors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession.

You will experience a blended learning model.

Desirable qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)

After this apprenticeship

Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship there will be the opportunity to progress into a level 3 apprenticeship which will be more aimed at the production side of the business.
