Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surfaces for painting including sanding, masking, and cleaning
  • Mix and apply paints, primers, and coatings using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Operate spray booths and other paintshop equipment safely and efficiently
  • Inspect painted items for quality and finish, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with health and safety regulations.
  • Follow work instructions, job cards, and technical specifications
  • Record work completed and report any issues or defects to supervisors
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the paintshop

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

Maths and English (grade 4-9)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
